We all talk about how we want to be environmentally friendly even going so far as to do book reports and give out speeches about how we are using up the worlds energy and destroying all of our natural resources but do we actually truly make an effort to do our part to save the environment in our daily lives? We all dream about having an environmentally friendly house with solar power and big glass windows to let in natural light however, we do not necessarily have to spend big amounts of money on building an environmentally friendly house to start being environmentally friendly. There are hundreds of things we can start doing right now to do our part for the environment. In fact, at this level it would be better if we start sharing posts and giving speeches about what the average person can do to save the environment and energy rather than giving lectures on big projects that most normal average people cannot afford.

Use disposable items sparingly
There are many items in our houses that we use without much thought such as eftpos paper rolls and even plastic water bottles. While using toilet paper is necessary, it is important to remember that most toilet paper is made from virgin pulp and we tend to use a lot of it with each use without thinking. Always make an effort to be conscious and use as little as possble while also ensuring that your needs have been met.

Even in the case of eftpos thermal rolls it might be a good idea to make an effort to buy the rolls made of recycled material instead of the ones made of virgin pulp. It is still important to use sparingly but at least you can be assured that it is made of recycled paper, check this restaurant table bookings diary.

Switch off unnecessary lights and electrical appliances
While this may seem quite basic, the truth is people always forget to switch off unnecessary light, fans and other electrical appliances in their houses and this takes up a lot of power. Make an effort to either not use lights or use minimal lights in the day time while instead making use of natural light by opening up all your windows and doors to make use of the sun light outside.

Dry your clothes outside
Make an effort to dry your clothes outside in the sun on a clothes line instead of using up electricity with a dryer. Clothes dryers are unnecessary and use up a lot of electricity.
